Update on HIV/STD testing from HEO
Health Education Outreach (HEO) has collaborated with East Valley
Community Health Center to provide free, on-campus, HIV, and more
recently, STD (Chlamydia, Gonorrhea) testing for students through the
East Valley Community Health Center. Recently, free STD testing was
discontinued due to state funding cuts.
Fortunately, students who meet certain criteria are still eligible to
receive free, anonymous HIV tests. Therefore, students can call HEO to
schedule an appointment for a HIV test as they have done in the past.
When students call, they will be informed that they will be screened
prior to testing by East Valley Community Health Center staff to
determine if they are eligible to receive a free HIV test.
Students who are ineligible for a free HIV test and those who want STD
testing will be given a list of other locations where they can be
tested, including our own Student Health Services.
Free Anonymous, HIV testing dates for the remainder of the semester are:
April 21 and May 5 from 5-7pm
